The trails heads off from the north side of the car park. The access road is graded dirt for a couple of kilometres.
#MURRAY BIKE TRAIL FULL#
I'd be jumping off speed bumps, hopping up curbs at nearly full speed, going off high curbs at full speed, and once even rode it off a dock into a lake. (Don’t let the Scarp Road to your left a few kilometres back confuse you! It’s definitely on your right if you’re following these directions.) You will see a little Munda Biddi sign at the trail crossing the road about 50 metres before you see the Turner Hill sign. I rode a 1995 model Murray mountain bike to school nearly every day for 5 years, and this thing never gave me a single problem or had a single part break. In addition to the main 11 kilometre loop, there is a short cut which shortens the trail to only 5 kilometres whilst still keeping all the fun bits and a fairly new 1.1 kilometre green-rated kids’ loop.įrom Perth, travelling south on South Western Highway, turn left into Del Park Road at North Dandalup, after about 10 kilometres, turn right onto Scarp Road. There is limited parking at the start of the trails. There are plenty of rocks and obstacles to keep you on your toes and keen to do another lap or two. These downhill trails can be shuttled via the road shown on the map.

The sealed off-road trail is a spine from which interconnected trails lead from the flatlands around Wangaratta to the famous alpine town of Bright as well as to historic Beechworth, through the gourmet riches of Milawa and the hidden. Despite being 1.25 hours drive from Perth it is worth the trek to blast out a couple of laps of this all singletrack loop. The Murray to Mountains Rail Trail stretches for more than 100 kilometres, meandering through the Ovens Valley. Turner Hill is nearly everyone’s favourite trail.
